About us

Preserving Blair’s Valley Heritage

Our Story

Our Commitment to Blairs Valley Conservation

Blairs Valley is a tranquil mountain valley on the western slope of the Cumberland Valley in South Central, Pennsylvania. Occupied for thousands of years by native American tribes, the valley was settled in the late 1700s by pioneer Scotch-Irish and German settlers who homesteaded this land on the American frontier in exchange for eventual land warrants from the state of PA in the early 1800s. In the 1980s, a ski resort was built in Blairs Valley which has brought development and thousand of visitors to Blairs Valley each year. Our group is born out of a shared commitment to preserve the history and ecology of the valley to ensure its legacy and the frontier struggles of its early inhabitants are not forgotten. We are group organized for the public good and are registered with the IRS as a 501(c) non-profit organization.
